Disappointing Customer Service – African + Eastern, International City I have been a loyal customer of African + Eastern for many years, but unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced rude behavior from the staff at the International City branch. Today, I finally decided to speak up. While shopping, I took a bag to carry my purchases. One of the staff members approached me rudely, put his hand on the bag, and said, “It’s not allowed. Go take a basket.” I have absolutely no problem respecting store policies, but there is a polite and professional way to communicate with customers. A simple “Excuse me, sir, could you please use a basket instead?” would have been more than enough. This is not about the basket or the bag. It is about respect and basic customer service. I strongly encourage management to train their staff on how to communicate professionally and respectfully with customers. Loyal customers deserve better treatment, and politeness costs nothing. I hope management takes this complaint seriously, as this is not an isolated experience.
